The LX was the flagship electric SUV of GAC Aion. It appeared in 2019 on GEP 2.0, a platform made only for electric cars. Dual-motor versions made around 300 kW and accelerated in under four seconds, which was unusual for a Chinese SUV at the time. The 2021 LX Plus had a 144.4 kWh battery and a claimed range of 1,000 km on the CLTC cycle. That was among the longest ranges quoted for a production EV. GAC later moved its premium plans to the Hyper/Hyptec sub-brand.
Aion's large flagship SUV, launched in 2019 with a 93 kWh battery. The Plus version claimed over 1,000 km of CLTC range.
