STORY

The first Aion Y was launched in 2021 as a compact electric crossover. Its body was deliberately boxy and one-box, to make the most of the interior space. The bright colours and the simple, upright cabin targeted younger city buyers, and the roomy layout also made it popular with ride-hailing operators. The softer-styled Y Plus soon joined it and then replaced it.
