STORY

The Alfa Romeo 159 replaced the 156 in 2005 with muscular styling penned under Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign. Built on the GM/Fiat Premium platform, it was offered as a saloon and Sportwagon with front- or Q4 all-wheel drive and a range of JTS petrol and JTDm diesel engines. Praised for its looks and cabin but criticised for weight, it was retired in 2011 ahead of the Giulietta and later Giulia.
