STORY

The Alfa Romeo 164 was an executive saloon launched in 1987, sharing the Type Four platform with the Fiat Croma, Lancia Thema and Saab 9000 but wearing the most distinctive body, designed by Pininfarina. It was Alfa's flagship, offered with the 3.0-litre Busso V6 including a 24-valve version and, in Q4 form, all-wheel drive. It marked the brand's return to a serious large saloon and remained in production until 1998.
