Giulietta Sprint Veloce

Giulietta 750/101 · 1954–1959RWD

Higher-output version of the Bertone Sprint, the Veloce ran twin Weber carburettors for roughly 90 hp. Lightweight alloy panels and sliding plexiglass windows in early cars made it a competitive lightweight for road and track.

STORY

The original Giulietta (Tipo 750, later 101) launched in 1954 and was Alfa Romeo's first true mass-produced car, introducing the all-aluminium twin-cam four-cylinder engine. It debuted as the Bertone-designed Sprint coupe before the Berlina saloon and Pininfarina Spider followed. It established Alfa as a maker of affordable, sporting cars for the postwar market.
