STORY
The modern B6 is Alpina's grand tourer on BMW's 6-Series, offered as coupé and convertible, and from 2014 as a four-door Gran Coupé. Introduced at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, the F12/F13 B6 used a reworked version of BMW's N63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 (Alpina code M2/1) with new turbochargers, Mahle pistons and a larger intercooler.
Initial output was 540 PS and 700 Nm; from late 2015 the B6 BiTurbo was uprated to 600 PS and 800 Nm, and the limited Edition 50 celebrated Alpina's 50th anniversary with 608 PS. The coupé and convertible were rear-wheel drive, while the Gran Coupé adopted xDrive all-wheel drive for all-weather traction.
Produced until 2019 and replaced by the B8 Gran Coupé, the B6 was Alpina's flagship coupé of the 2010s, a 300 km/h GT that traded the M6's hard edge for long-distance refinement and hand-finished Lavalina interiors.
