STORY

The Rambler American came in three generations. The first, from 1958 to 1960, revived the Nash Rambler body. The second ran from 1961 to 1963, and the third, from 1964 to 1969, had a new body on a 106 in wheelbase. Early cars used a 195.6 cu in six. A 232 cu in six arrived in 1965 and a 290 cu in V8 in 1966. The Hornet replaced the American for 1970.
