STORY
The Audi 90 arrived with the 1984 facelift of the 80 as a larger-engined, more upmarket version of Audi's compact saloon, distinguished by its five-cylinder engines, a 2.0-litre with 115 PS and a 2.2-litre with 136 PS. It offered buyers a smoother, more powerful alternative to the four-cylinder 80 while sharing its practical, well-built body.
The 90 lent its name to one of Audi's most spectacular racing cars, the 90 quattro IMSA GTO, and represents the more luxurious branch of the 80/90 family that would later be consolidated into the Audi A4.
