STORY
Produced from 1979, the Audi 200 was the upmarket, more powerful sister of the Audi 100 and served as Audi's flagship before the arrival of the V8. It introduced turbocharger technology to Audi's executive range, pairing the turbocharged five-cylinder engine with the aerodynamic bodywork the 100 was famous for.
The 200 blended luxury, performance and available quattro drive, and its motorsport spin-offs left a mark: the Audi 200 quattro won the Trans-Am series in 1988, demonstrating quattro's dominance on American circuits and paving the way for the 90 quattro IMSA GTO.
