STORY

Produced from 1979, the Audi 200 was the more upmarket, more powerful sister of the Audi 100. It served as Audi's flagship before the arrival of the V8. It brought turbocharging to Audi's executive range, combining the turbocharged five-cylinder engine with the aerodynamic bodywork the 100 was known for.

The 200 combined luxury, performance and optional quattro drive. Its racing version left a mark too: the Audi 200 quattro won the Trans-Am series in 1988, showed the strength of quattro on American circuits and prepared the way for the 90 quattro IMSA GTO.
