STORY

The RS 5 began in 2010 as a coupe on the B8 A5, shown at Geneva that March by quattro GmbH with a 4.2-litre FSI V8 of 331 kW (450 PS) revving to 8,250 rpm; a cabriolet followed, and the United States only got the car with the facelift, presented in Detroit in January 2012 as a 2013 model. The F5 of 2017 traded the V8 for a 2.9-litre V6 biturbo, holding 450 PS while torque rose to 600 Nm, and gained a five-door Sportback shown in New York in 2018. A 250-car Sportback performance edition at 346 kW (470 PS) opened for orders in June 2024. The B10 car presented on 19 February 2026 is Audi Sport's first plug-in hybrid, pairing a 375 kW (510 PS) V6 with a 130 kW motor for 470 kW (639 PS), as saloon and Avant.
