STORY
Audi's largest RS SUV had its world debut at the Los Angeles auto show on 20 November 2019, two months after Frank Stippler lapped the Nordschleife in 7:42.253 on 13 September 2019, then the quickest time for a production SUV. It shares the RS 6's 4.0-litre V8 biturbo on the 4M Q8 body: 441 kW (600 PS), 800 Nm, 3.8 seconds to 100 km/h and 305 km/h derestricted, with air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Audi of America presented it as the brand's first RS SUV for that market, with deliveries from 2020. The facelift announced on 25 June 2024 brought an RS Q8 performance at 471 kW (640 PS) and 850 Nm, which Audi Sport calls its most powerful series-production combustion model, and a 7:36.698 lap of the same circuit.
