EngineSpecifications
STORY
The A5 and S5 were unveiled together at the Geneva show on 6 March 2007, the S5 using a 4.2-litre FSI V8 of 260 kW (354 PS) with a six-speed manual. Cabriolet and Sportback bodies followed in 2009 with a supercharged 3.0 TFSI of 245 kW (333 PS), and the facelift that reached production in August 2011 moved the coupe onto that engine as well. The F5 generation, shown as a coupe in June 2016 and completed by the Sportback that October and the cabriolet in January 2017, standardised a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0 TFSI at 260 kW (354 PS) with an eight-speed automatic, and Europe also got a 3.0 TDI from 2019. In 2024 the badge inherited the saloon and Avant bodies from the discontinued S4, the B10 S5 carrying a 3.0-litre V6 of 270 kW (367 PS) with MHEV plus hybrid assistance.
