STORY
Audi put the S6 name on an electric car for the first time on 31 July 2024, when the A6 e-tron family was shown as a Sportback and an Avant on the Premium Platform Electric. Two motors, an asynchronous unit at the front and a permanent-magnet one at the rear, give 370 kW in normal running and 405 kW (551 PS) with launch control, which either body needs to reach 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds; without it the figure is 4.1 seconds, and the limiter sits at 240 km/h. The 800-volt system takes up to 270 kW on a DC charger and the pack holds 100 kWh gross, 94.9 kWh net. Orders opened in September 2024. The name itself goes back to 1994, when the first S6 arrived on the C4 A6.
