STORY
This was a rename rather than a new car: on 9 November 2022 Audi turned the e-tron into the Q8 e-tron, and the three-motor e-tron S became the SQ8 e-tron. It kept one asynchronous motor at the front and one for each rear wheel, so torque could be shuffled across the rear axle, and Audi quoted 370 kW (503 PS) in boost mode and 973 Nm. A 114 kWh gross pack, 106 kWh net, lifted WLTP range to 494 km for the SUV and 513 km for the Sportback, and the steering and suspension were retuned. Sales began in 2023, and Audi Brussels built the last Q8 e-tron in February 2025, closing a line that had started with the e-tron in 2018.
