STORY
Audi dropped the 4.0 V8 TDI into the Q8 coupe-SUV in June 2019, a year after the Q8 itself: 320 kW (435 PS), 900 Nm between 1,250 and 3,250 rpm, an electric powered compressor on the 48-volt system, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a German price of 102,900 euros. North America never received that engine and took the petrol SQ8 for the 2020 model year. On 15 July 2020 Audi announced the 4.0 TFSI for the range, 373 kW (507 PS) and 770 Nm, cutting the sprint to 4.1 seconds, with European deliveries from that autumn. The facelifted Q8 followed on 5 September 2023 with reworked lights and bumpers and the same V8 output, and the SQ8 stayed in the price lists as a 2026 model alongside the RS Q8 and RS Q8 performance.
