STORY
The TT RS had its world debut at the Geneva show in March 2009, developed by quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm around a new 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo of 250 kW (340 PS) and 450 Nm, in coupe and roadster form. Audi of America ran a Facebook campaign from August 2010 to measure demand for it, gathered more than 11,500 signatures and announced on 14 September 2010 that the coupe would come; it reached North America for the 2012 model year. A TT RS plus of 2012 raised output to 265 kW (360 PS) and the top speed to 280 km/h. The 8S car of 2016 fitted the redesigned aluminium-crankcase 2.5 TFSI at 294 kW (400 PS) and 480 Nm. A 100-car European special edition marking 25 years of the TT followed in October 2022, and the last TT of any kind was built in November 2023.
