STORY
Unveiled in September 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and on sale from 2006, the Audi Q7 was the first SUV Audi ever made. It started the "Q" family, which grew into one of the brand's most important product lines.
The Q7 is a full-size, seven-seat luxury crossover. It shared its platform with the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne and combined quattro all-wheel drive with powerful petrol and TDI diesel engines, including a top-of-the-range V12 TDI. It brought Audi's design and cabin quality to the fast-growing large-SUV segment and became the model for the Q5, Q3 and Q8 that followed.
