Audi Sport customer racing presented the R8 LMS GT2 in 2019, unveiling it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, for the GT2 class that started in the 2020 season. It uses the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 without an air restrictor, rated at 470 kW (640 hp) with more than 550 Nm, and it is rear-wheel drive.
Audi describes it as the most powerful and exclusive model of its customer racing programme. In customer hands it has taken 13 titles and an overall win in a 24-hour race.
