The Beijing EU5 (2018-), from BAIC's new-energy arm, is a compact all-electric sedan built on a converted Senova platform, with a focus on range and value. It was one of China's best-selling EVs of its time, especially with ride-hailing fleets.
The BAIC EU5 is a compact battery-electric sedan launched in 2018 by BAIC's electric-vehicle arm and derived from the platform of the conventional Senova D50 sedan. It has front-wheel drive from a single electric motor and a claimed range of about 400 to 500 km, depending on the battery version. It is aimed at private buyers, taxi fleets and ride-hailing services, and it was among China's best-selling EVs in the late 2010s. It is a practical, good-value electric family sedan, not a performance or luxury car.
