STORY

The BMW 7 Series has been the company's flagship since 1977, the car in which BMW showcases its most advanced luxury and technology. The first-generation E23 established the template: a large, driver-focused executive sedan positioned against the Mercedes S-Class, but tuned to be enjoyable to drive rather than merely chauffeured.

The E32 that followed in 1986 made history as the first German post-war passenger car with a V12 engine, in the 750i. Since then the 7 Series has repeatedly been BMW's technology vanguard, introducing features from early navigation and iDrive to today's electric i7, while always aiming to combine limousine comfort with a sporting edge that its rivals traditionally lacked.
