STORY

The i5, introduced in 2023, is the fully electric member of the eighth-generation (G60) 5 Series family, engineered alongside the combustion cars on BMW's CLAR platform. Buyers can choose the rear-drive eDrive40 or the performance-oriented dual-motor M60 xDrive, both drawing on an ~81.2 kWh battery for up to roughly 580 km of WLTP range. It also debuted advanced driver-assistance features such as an optional hands-free Highway Assistant, bringing electric power to BMW's core executive saloon.
