STORY

The BMW iX3 is the electric version of the X3 and one of BMW's most important EVs. The first generation (G08, 2020) was a fairly cautious conversion of the combustion X3, with a single rear motor, 286 PS and around 460 km of range. It was built in China and used BMW's fifth-generation eDrive technology. The second-generation iX3 (NA5, 2025) is a milestone: the first model on BMW's dedicated Neue Klasse electric architecture. It has 800-volt sixth-generation eDrive, a large cell-to-pack battery, up to around 800 km of WLTP range and 400 kW charging. It shows where BMW's electric range is going.
