The BX6 joined the revived Borgward range after the BX7 and the BX5. The brand was revived by Christian Borgward, a grandson of Carl Borgward, with the help of the Chinese truck maker Beiqi Foton. The BX6 had a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an automatic gearbox. In December 2022 a Beijing court approved the bankruptcy of the company.
