The Story

Why the Destrier matters

Destrier is the third car from Bugatti's Programme Solitaire, the Molsheim division that builds one-off cars for individual clients after the Brouillard and the F.K.P. Hommage. It was unveiled on 6 August 2026 and shown at Monterey Car Week.

Unlike the earlier Solitaire cars, it is not based on a Chiron. It uses the carbon monocoque and 8.0 L quad-turbo W16 of the track-only Bolide, of which 40 were built from 2024. The wings, vents and X-shaped lights were dropped for a smooth body, road tyres on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, and a cabin trimmed in leather and nubuck.

At about one metre tall it is the lowest Bugatti yet. Bugatti has not published a price.
