STORY

The Allure was the name Buick used in Canada for the LaCrosse mid-size sedan, sold there from 2005 to 2009 because 'LaCrosse' carried an unfortunate slang meaning in Quebec French. It shared the front-wheel-drive W-body platform and 3.6- or 3.8-liter V6 engines with its U.S.-market twin. The nameplate was retired after the first generation, when GM unified the badge as LaCrosse across all North American markets.
