STORY

The Electra was Buick's full-size flagship from 1959 to 1990, named for Electra Waggoner Biggs and long the brand's most luxurious offering. Premium versions wore the Electra 225 badge, referencing the car's roughly 225-inch length, and later cars introduced the plush Park Avenue trim that would eventually become its own model. The Electra downsized dramatically to a front-wheel-drive C-body in the mid-1980s before the name was retired.
