STORY

The Estate Wagon was Buick's full-size station wagon, sold in this form from 1970 to 1996. In the 1970s it was built on GM's large body, and the 1971-1976 cars used the heavy clamshell design. The wagon was cut to a smaller B-body size for 1977, along with the other big GM cars. The Roadmaster name returned in 1991 on a new sedan and Estate wagon, which could seat eight. From 1994 it had the 5.7-litre LT1 V8 that the Corvette used. Buick ended the Roadmaster and its Estate wagon after the 1996 model year, and with the Chevrolet Caprice wagon it was among the last American full-size V8 station wagons.
