Atto 3 is the export name of the first-generation BYD Yuan Plus, a compact electric SUV launched in China in February 2022. The Chinese car had a 150 kW front motor with 310 N·m and Blade LFP packs of 49.92 and 60.48 kWh, rated at 430 and 510 km CLTC. Australia opened pre-sales under the Atto 3 name the same month. Euro NCAP awarded it five stars in October 2022, with 91 percent for adult occupants. In April 2026 BYD unveiled a larger, rear-wheel-drive second-generation Yuan Plus, announced in New Zealand as the Atto 5, so this entry describes only the first car.
The Atto 3 is a compact battery-electric SUV, sold domestically as the BYD Yuan Plus and one of BYD's first major global export models. It rides on the e-Platform 3.0 and is powered by a Blade LFP battery with a single electric motor. It sold well across Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. It occupies the mainstream compact EV crossover segment.
