The Tang DM-i is a seven-seat, five-door plug-in hybrid SUV sold from 2021. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with electric assistance gives 415 PS and 675 Nm, and it drives all four wheels through an automatic gearbox. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

STORY

The BYD Tang is BYD's flagship large SUV, first launched in 2015 and named after the Tang dynasty, known early on for combining three-row practicality with strong plug-in hybrid performance. The second generation arrived in 2018 and was offered in DM plug-in hybrid and full EV forms. It has been one of BYD's best-known models and an early export flagship.
