Destroyer 05

Destroyer 05 is a plug-in hybrid sedan, the first sedan in BYD's Ocean series, shown at the Guangzhou show on 19 November 2021 and launched in China on 17 March 2022. It is based on the Qin Plus DM-i and pairs a 1.5-litre engine with BYD's DM-i hybrid system. BYD claimed 3.8 L/100 km with the battery at its lowest charge. Abroad it has other names: King DM-i in Brazil, launched on 18 June 2024 with up to 120 km of electric range on the NEDC cycle for the 18.3 kWh version (a footnote on the same page gives up to 80 km by Inmetro), and Seal 5 DM-i in Thailand, presented on 8 August 2025.
