The Frigate 07 is a plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD's Ocean line, the second model named after a warship after the Destroyer 05. BYD unveiled it at the Chengdu show on 26 August 2022 and launched it on 9 December 2022. It is 4,820 mm long on a 2,820 mm wheelbase. A 1.5-litre turbo engine works with a front motor of 145 kW peak; the dual-motor version adds a 150 kW rear motor and is quoted at 4.7 seconds to 100 km/h. BYD claimed a combined range above 1,200 km, without naming a test cycle. Its name is also rendered in English as Corvette 07, and in December 2024 the facelifted car was reported to be taking the name Sealion 07 DM.
The Frigate 07 is a mid-size SUV in BYD's Ocean (Warship) series, offered primarily as a DM-i plug-in hybrid. It pairs a 1.5-liter engine with BYD's DM-i electric drive and a Blade LFP battery for long combined range and low fuel use. It is positioned as a family SUV in China. It targets mainstream buyers wanting an efficient plug-in hybrid crossover.
