CarNewsChina reported in December 2024 that the Seal 05 DM-i would replace the Destroyer 05 in China. It is a four-door plug-in hybrid sedan with a 1.5-litre engine and a 120 kW motor, 4,780 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase. The Destroyer 05 itself has been sold since 2022, and in Thailand the same car is sold as the Seal 5 DM-i.
The Seal 05 DM-i is the name used in China for the updated Destroyer 05, a compact plug-in hybrid sedan in BYD's Ocean series. It pairs a 1.5-litre engine with the DM-i 5.0 hybrid system for low fuel use. It is the same car as the Destroyer 05, renamed after an update, and not a new model below the Seal.
