STORY

The Sixty Special name first appeared in 1938 on a Bill Mitchell design. Cadillac revived it for 1987-1993 on a stretched, front-wheel-drive luxury sedan derived from the DeVille/Fleetwood C-body. It was a more formal, longer-wheelbase alternative built around GM's transverse V8, 4.1 liters at first, then 4.5 and later 4.9. It was the last time the Sixty Special name appeared on a Cadillac.
