Cadillac introduced the Calais for 1965 as its lowest-priced full-size model, in place of the Series 62. It shared its styling and mechanical parts with the more expensive DeVille. The 429 cu in V8 was standard at the start, and Cadillac moved to a 472 cu in V8 in 1968. The 1976 model was the last Calais.
The Calais was Cadillac's entry-level full-size car of 1965-1976, the former Series 62. It used 429, 472 and 500 cubic-inch V8s.
