STORY

The Cimarron was a compact entry-level sedan sold from 1982 to 1988. It was a lightly rebadged Chevrolet Cavalier with Cadillac trim and a premium price, and it became infamous for it. Cadillac rushed it out to counter small European luxury imports. It badly damaged the brand's reputation and is often cited as one of the worst decisions in Cadillac's history. Later versions gained a V6 and better trim, but the damage was done.
