STORY

Introduced for 1999, the Escalade was Cadillac's hurried answer to the Lincoln Navigator. It quickly became the brand's most culturally prominent vehicle, popular with hip-hop, sports and entertainment figures. Built on GM's full-size truck platforms, it grew from a lightly rebadged GMC Denali into a distinctly styled luxury flagship with sharp-edged sheetmetal. The 2021 fifth generation brought an independent rear suspension and a curved 38-inch OLED dashboard display. It modernized the Escalade and kept its imposing presence.
