STORY

Introduced for 1999, the Escalade was Cadillac's hurried answer to the Lincoln Navigator, and it quickly became the brand's most culturally prominent vehicle, embraced by hip-hop, sports, and entertainment figures. Built on GM's full-size truck platforms, it grew from a lightly rebadged GMC Denali into a distinctly styled luxury flagship with sharp-edged sheetmetal. The 2021 fifth generation introduced an independent rear suspension and a curved 38-inch OLED dashboard display, modernizing the icon while keeping its imposing presence.
