STORY

The Fleetwood name was on Cadillac's most prestigious sedans for decades. The final 1993-1996 generation was a rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame, full-size sedan with the LT1 V8 shared with the Corvette. It rode on GM's D-body platform and was among the last traditional large American luxury sedans, valued for its smooth ride and huge size. Its discontinuation after 1996 ended the era of the full-frame Cadillac sedan, as GM converted the Arlington plant to build SUVs.
