The Chery A3 went on sale in China in late September 2008 as a four-door sedan, and a five-door hatchback followed in Beijing on 6 January 2009 with 1.6 and 1.8-litre engines, priced from 74,800 to 90,800 yuan. Autocade dates the car 2008 to 2015. Abroad it carried other names: M11 in Russia, where both bodies were sold, and Cielo in Brazil, where the hatchback and the sedan both cost R$41,900 in May 2010. Autocade and Wikipedia list M12 as an export name for the hatchback, which no maker or market source confirms. The Russian-market car has its own M11 page.
