The Big Ant, sold as the Chery eQ5, is a battery-electric crossover 4,630 mm long on a 2,830 mm wheelbase. A Spanish-language report of 24 July 2020 said Chery planned to start sales in China in the last quarter of 2020, with a 70 kWh battery and 510 km of range on the NEDC cycle; the car actually went on sale on 22 September 2020 with a 130 kW motor. CarNewsChina's database lists the 2022 model with a 70.1 kWh pack. In December 2022 Autonews gave its domestic price as 149,000 to 189,000 yuan, quoted up to 510 km of range, and noted that the newer eQ7 crossover was expected on the Chinese market in the second half of 2023, according to media reports.
