STORY

The Eastar, called Oriental Son in China, is a cheap Chery sedan. In April 2008 Chery showed Eastar parade cars built for the People's Liberation Army, three of which carried the Shenzhou VII astronauts through Chinese cities after their September 2008 flight. At the April 2009 Shanghai show Chery revealed an Eastar limousine, which it called the first China-made western-style limousine. In December 2008 Gasgoo described the sedan as an ageing model with weak sales.
