STORY

Fora was the name under which Russia sold the Chery A5, a compact sedan that Chery launched in China in 2006. The A516 with a 1.6-litre ACTECO engine went on sale in Beijing on 28 July 2006. In Russia the Fora was assembled by Avtotor in Kaliningrad until that plant closed in 2008, and in the first half of 2008 it was Chery's most popular model there after the Amulet. TagAZ in Taganrog then built an upgraded clone, the Vortex Estina, released to dealers in September 2008 with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines. The same car was the Elara in Ukraine, and the E5 followed the A5 line in 2011.
