STORY

The Omoda 5 is a compact SUV on Chery's T1X platform, sold under the separate Omoda brand and called Omoda C5 in some markets. In Australia it went on sale in March 2023 under the Omoda 5 name; in May 2025 Chery renamed the petrol car C5 and the electric one E5, with the C5 at 29,990 dollars drive-away. In September 2023 Chery had announced UK sales from March 2024 at about 24,000 pounds, but the brand launched in the UK only on 29 August 2024, with the petrol Omoda 5 from 25,235 pounds and the electric E5 from 33,055. A hybrid with a 1.83 kWh battery reached the UK later.
