STORY

The Chery QQ reached the Chinese market in 2003 with an 800 cc ACTECO three-cylinder engine, priced under 50,000 yuan. GM, which began investigating the QQ's resemblance to the Daewoo Matiz in 2003, saw GM Daewoo sue Chery in December 2004, and in November 2005 GM and Chery settled their legal disputes out of court. Its main rival was the Chevrolet Spark, a rebadged Daewoo Matiz. The hatchback was renamed QQ3 in 2006.
