STORY

Chery opened pre-sales of the Tiggo 8L in China in July 2024 from 147,700 yuan, then launched it on 8 August 2024 in Chengdu in five variants at 129,900 to 174,900 yuan, below the 147,700-yuan pre-sale starting price. It is a seven-seat SUV in a 5+2 layout, 4,795 mm long on a 2,770 mm wheelbase, with the 2.0-litre turbo Kunpeng engine rated at 187 kW and 390 N·m and an eight-speed automatic. In September 2025 Chery renamed the car Tiggo 9X for China when it refreshed the Tiggo 9 range, so the Tiggo 8L name covers about thirteen months of sales.
