4.3 Vortec V6

STORY

Chevrolet introduced the Astro for 1985 and sold it alongside its GMC Safari twin, with a 4.3-liter V6 on the engine list. All-wheel drive became available in 1990. A second generation arrived in 1995, and the Astro stayed in production until 2005, about twenty years in all. That span covers two generations, the first from 1985 to 1994 and the second from 1995 to 2005. This entry covers the Chevrolet version only, and the Safari is a separate GMC model.
