The Chevrolet Beat was GM India's small hatchback, launched in India in January 2010 at the New Delhi motor show. It started with a 1.2-liter petrol engine of roughly 80 PS, and a diesel followed on 25 July 2011. The diesel was a three-cylinder unit rated at about 25 km per liter by ARAI (24 at launch, later quoted at 25.44). It arrived about 18 months after launch, so buyers had both fuels on sale from mid-2011. GM announced its exit from the Indian passenger car market in 2017, and Beat sales there ended that year.
City hatchback sold in India from 2010 to 2017 (based on GM's global Gamma II platform), offered with petrol and diesel engines.
