STORY

Chevrolet built the Beretta from 1987 to 1996 as a front-drive coupe sold alongside the Corsica sedan. The GTZ arrived in 1990 with a 2.3-liter Quad 4 engine rated at 180 hp, and that year a Beretta convertible paced the Indianapolis 500. Chevrolet cancelled the convertible for production in September 1990 after about three years of work and roughly 20 million dollars, since the body flexed and the car failed a rear crash test. The last Beretta left the line on July 30, 1996.
