STORY

The Caprice began in 1965 as a premium version of the Impala four-door hardtop, and for 1966 it became a full top-line series with a coupe and wagons added. The full-size Chevrolets were downsized for 1977, and the 1991 car was a new aerodynamic body on the previous B-body chassis. The passenger car was discontinued after the 1996 model year. The Caprice name returned for 2011 on the Caprice PPV, a separate Holden-built police car made in Elizabeth, South Australia, and sold to law enforcement only; its 6.0 litre V8 was rated at 265 kW, about 355 hp.
